WITH Christmas festivities being planned for Ringwood, organisers have received the icing on the cake.

Retirement developers McCarthy & Stone have sponsored the final sets of lighting, which will light-up Meeting House Lane for this year’s event at a cost of more than £2,000.

Jacqui Meenan, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy & Stone, added: “We’re absolutely delighted we were able to complete the sponsorship required for the Ringwood Christmas Lights.

“We’re dedicated to helping communities and we look forward to seeing Ringwood light up this Christmas.”

In addition to new lighting throughout the town, the mistletoe stars will adorn two of the large trees on Meeting House Lane and should be clearly seen from the A31, just to let everyone know Christmas is alive and well in Ringwood.

Town Major Cllr Barbara Woodifield said: “This event has already been a great demonstration of partnership work, with the Town Council, National Lottery and local Business all contributing toward making this a successful event. I hope our residents will turn out in large numbers to enjoy the entertainment and support local businesses on December 6.”
