Police and coastguard were called to rescue a man in the water at Barton on Sea on Saturday evening.
A spokesperson for Solent coastguard said they were called at 5.43pm to reports of a man in the water.
Lymington coastguard officers and the Mudeford RNLI lifeboat were also tasked along with the police helicopter.
The casualty was recovered and treated by the ambulance service.
