FLOWER experts cast their professional eye over Wimborne.

In Bloom competition judges Brian Stephens and Vince Gradwell visited on Thursday to assess Wimborne’s hopes in the Small Town category.

Mayor Councillor John Burden and Wimborne In Bloom committee members took the men on a tour of the town.

Wimborne In Bloom Chairman Anthony Oliver said: “They don’t give anything away. They said they enjoyed being here and gave us a few tips.”

Mr Oliver is hoping new displays at Willow Walk, the Allendale Centre and Pye Corner will see off rivals. The results will be announced on September 13.

Wimborne is also up for a Britain in Bloom award to be judged on Friday, August 10.
