Angels set to appear at Wimborne's Minster church

ANGELS are set to fill Wimborne’s famed Minster church for a flower festival.

Volunteers at the Church of St Cuthburga have been hard at work making the papier-mâché figures to decorate the Church of St Cuthburga later this year.

Christine Oliver and the minster's team of volunteers used shop dummies as the basis for the creations, moulding and shaping the angels’ features from old newspaper soaked in wallpaper paste.

The angels will appear alongside a floral carpet, tableaux and other arrangements will be used in the Gift of Music presentation which is set to decorate the church in mid September.

The festival will open to the public between 9.30am and 7pm on Friday September 10 and Saturday September 11, from 1pm to 6pm on Sunday September 12, and from 9.30am to 5.3pm on Monday September 13.
