MORE than 140 events and promotions will take place in Wimborne to encourage visitors to the town.

The month-long Discover Wimborne event, which started on Easter Sunday, will offer a variety of activities including Wimborne Wellness Day, family fun days, free organic hair testing at Organic Hair Café, Ghosts, Myths and Legends town tours and walks, free pilates sessions, antique valuations at George Kinder in West Borough, free ring cleaning at Ockenden and Hemming in the Square, and a sweet tombola at the Fudge and Candy Shack.

There is also an opportunity for visitors and locals to showcase their cooking skills with Wimborne’s Best Yorkshire Pudding competition, run by Dacombes.

And the Welsh Kenfig Hill Male voice choir are performing in the Minster Church of St Cuthburga on Saturday, April 21. Wimborne BID Manager Tammy Sleet said: "Discover Wimborne promises to be better than ever this year with more businesses participating. It’s an opportunity to showcase the whole town and for every business to join forces and raise their profile.

“Many events are free, there is something for everyone and it’s great to see businesses working together to provide opportunities for residents and visitors to enable them to discover our great town. Everyone can be assured of a warm Wimborne welcome this April."
