EAST DORSET: Police are warning residents of scams after two separate incidents involving people touting for work.
Both incidents took place on Friday morning.
Two men were seen approaching residents in Elm Tree Walk and Dene Walk in West Parley.
Neighbourhood police officers believe the men may be rogue traders doing work for extortionate rates of pay.
The men may be linked to a maroon coloured 05 plat pick up truck style vehicle.
In Ferndown, police received reports of males going door-to-door attempting to purchase gold, silver, war medals and antiques in Bramley Road and Mayfield Drive.
Officers admit there is nothing illegal in this, but believe there are better ways to sell items and ask residents to keep an eye on neighbours who may be vulnerable or feel threatened by these incidents.
