POLICE were called to reports of poaching, theft and criminal damage in rural East Dorset during January.
Would-be thieves who attempted to raid a garage in Mannington were scared off by an alarm on January 3. Nothing was taken.
On the same day, a handbag was stolen from a vehicle parked at Kingston Lacy.
Poachers caused damage to a gate and fence and stole a chain in Horton on January 9.
The following day, a steam cleaner was stolen from an outbuilding in Sturminster Marshall.
On January 14, thieves stole a handbag from a vehicle parked at Sixpenny Handley.
The window of a vehicle parked in the Badbury Rings car park was smashed on January 15. Nothing was stolen.
A handbag was stolen from a parked car in Pentridge on January 17.
Later that day, thieves broke into a garage in Sturminster Marshall and stole power tools, and tools were also stolen from a garage in Cowgrove.
Another outbuilding in Sturminster Marshall was raided on January 19. Once again, power tools were taken.
A trailer parked in Sixpenny Handley was stolen on January 20.
Power tools were stolen from an outbuilding in Crendell on January 22. Vandals also damaged a vehicle in Horton that day.
A TV in a box was taken from the side of a house in Woodlands on January 23.
On January 25, poachers were seen in Woodcutts.
