NEW CCTV has been released following a burglary at a shop in Wimborne earlier this month.

Three-masked men forced their way into Berties Country on Crown Mead using sledgehammers at around 10.40pm on Thursday, January 11.

Around £10,000 worth of branded clothing was taken.

Police have established that the suspects drove a blue Mazda 6 down an alleyway at the front of the shop before exiting the vehicle and carrying out the burglary.

Subsequent enquiries have revealed the Mazda was being driven with false number plates.

CCTV images of the car and photos of the items stolen have now been released.

Police Sergeant Scott McFarland, of Wimborne police, said: “We believe the suspects travelled around Wimborne several times prior to committing the burglary and may have stopped in Wimborne Square for several minutes.

“I am appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the vehicle and its occupants to please come forward.

“I am particularly keen to hear from any motorists who may have been in Wimborne town centre on the relevant evening and have dash cam in their vehicle.

“I am also releasing images of the stolen items and would urge anyone who has seen them offered for sale in unusual circumstances to please contact Dorset Police.”
