FAMILIES can come face to face with stable animals at Moors Valley Country Park this winter.

The new attraction is just one of many events taking place this year in the run-up to the big day and will see Longdown Dairy Farm bring some of its animals to the park to meet visitors on December 10 and 17.

Old Fairy Godmother is set to weave her storytelling magic as she decorates her tree for a rather special visitor on December 2, 3 and 9. The sessions will take place at 11am and 2pm.

Then, it’s all aboard the Santa Special when the popular railway trips return on December 9, 10, 16 and 17. Father Christmas himself will be bringing presents for children and adults with elves providing seasonal refreshments. Santa Specials run from 11am to 3pm and early booking is recommended.

The Frog Prince is this year’s pantomime which hops in on December 18 and 19 courtesy of Forest Forge and Bumblefly Theatre.

Other events include carol singing at dusk on December 9 and 16 and a family festive quiz trail which runs from Boxing Day to New Year’s Day.

There will also be British Christmas trees from two to eight feet on sale as well as holly wreaths and mistletoe. The Christmas tree shop opens from December 1 to 17 or until stock runs out.

Parking is free at Moors Valley when you buy a tree from the Christmas Tree Shop, visit Santa at the Moors Valley Railway or enjoy a pre-booked Christmas meal at Seasons Restaurant.
