THIS picture of a field mouse enjoying his lunch in the sunshine has earned Echo Camera Club member Hayley Whalvin praise from her fellow photographers.

And although the image might look effortless, in reality it took Hayley five hours and more than 700 clicks of the shutter to bag.

The wildlife enthusiast attended a special workshop in Wimborne to secure the shot.

"At the workshop, there was a huge, waist-high perspex tank so you could get the best shots," she said.

"The plants were held with clamps so you stood the best chance.

"Even so, it took me five hours to get it. I just couldn't have done it in the wild."

Hayley, who lives in Southampton, used a Canon 700D digital camera to get the photograph.

She said: "I was made up to get it.

"It was just astonishing to watch the mice for hours - it was mindblowing."

Hayley said she's been asked if the photograph was doctored since uploading it to social media.

She said: "People have been asking me, 'Is it Photoshopped?'

"I said, 'If I knew how to do that, I wouldn't have had to stand in the sun for five hours.'"

Hayley has been taking photographs for the past decade.

She said: "I was really lucky to get this shot.

"I just knew the second I'd taken it that it was the one. I thought, 'I've done it. That's it.'"
