POLICE are investigating a series of incidents in the Ferndown area.

On Friday night a car and a handbag were stolen during a burglary in Leeson Drive.

Offenders entered the property and stole a handbag containing personal items and a red Ford Fiesta with keys.

The incident happened between 10.30pm on Friday, May 26, and 3.55am on Saturday morning.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.

They are also reminding residents to ensure that their property is secure.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 55170077544.

Police are also warning the public to be vigilant following two suspicious incidents in the Ferndown area.

Both incidents involve a male knocking on doors of properties which are currently ‘For Sale’ asking if the resident has any furniture to sell.

Then once inside the property the male has asked the occupant whether they have any jewellery to sell as well.

The male is described as white, in his 40’s, smartly dressed, gaps in front teeth and possibly speaks with a London accent.

As a result police are advising residents not to allow any unknown persons access to their property.
