VISITORS to the gym at Two Riversmeet in Christchurch can now enjoy a range of new equipment after a £100,000 investment.

The leisure centre now has a new cycling studio with 15 new indoor bikes, as well as "state-of-the-art" fitness equipment and a brand new audio visual system.

To celebrate, the centre is inviting residents to see the improvements at their launch event on Saturday January 27 from 8.30am until 1pm.

Swimming will be charged at only £1 per swim and there will also be free taster gym sessions and indoor cycling sessions.

Cllr Peter Hall, chairman of resources committee, said: “Promoting an active lifestyle is one of our council’s priorities so I am pleased that we were able to fund the improvements at Two Riversmeet.

"The new cycling area is a particular success as this transformed a previously unused space at the centre.”

Dan Stone, business development team leader for the complex said: “Earlier this year we carried out a survey asking our current leisure centre users what improvements they would like to see. We used some of these suggestions as the basis for our latest improvements and I am thrilled to see the new equipment in place.

“The new RIG and Cycling Studio are excellent addition for our members and feedback so far has been very positive. We have lots of gym membership offers running currently, so it is also a great time of the year to join.”

Six personal trainers have also joined the team.
