THE Mayor of Christchurch got the ball rolling at a town centre Bowls club as members got ready to compete for the first time on their brand new carpet.
The Mayor, Cllr David Flagg, and his wife Denise celebrated with members at East Dorset Indoor Bowls Club, who got stuck in to a competition as soon as the ribbon was cut.
Anne Pettman, honorary secretary at the club in Stony Lane South, Christchurch, said: “We can now stand proud with visiting clubs as the new carpet is the hub of our club.
“We are always looking for new members to come and join us.”
If you are interested in taking up bowls contact Anne on 01425 274760 or the club on 01202 483317.
