COUNCILLORS in Christchurch are being recommended to accept an offer for a former candle factory site.
The site was marketed by Christchurch council last year and the authority has received eight tenders – although the details have not been made public.
The future of the Bank Close land was first considered in June when plans for two residential units were being considered and in August the council agreed to market the site.
Council officers are recommending that members of the Resources Committee support one of eight tenders at Wednesday's meeting however no details of what the scheme involves have been made public.
A request had been made by councillors that the possibility of converting the land into a car park but it was not deemed to be worthwhile.
An earlier study, carried out by the council, estimated that the land would be worth more than £200,000 if it had planning permission for two homes.
