WORKS to resurface Chapel Gate roundabout just months after a major improvement scheme was completed will be carried out next week.

Engineers will be working overnight on Thursday and Friday to treat the road surface.

Last year a £1.65m scheme by Dorset County Council was completed as part of Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership’s BIG programme.

However, within weeks the road surface was no longer fit for purpose.

Initially the remedial work was planned for Easter, but this was pushed back due to cold weather.

The roundabout will be surfaced, as well as around 30 metres on each approach and the dedicated slip lane.

There will be three-way lights in place from 8pm until 6am on Thursday and Friday. Additional lining work lining will be finished during off-peak hours the following week.
