PART of a road leading up to an industrial estate in Christchurch is set to have its speed limit reduced to 40mph. Currently, a short section of road on the approach to Aviation Business Park is de-restricted at 60mph. Dorset County Council is proposing to extend the 40mph speed limit on the B3073 Parley Lane and Chapel Gate to cover the road at the Chapel Lane junction. A spokesperson said: "At the moment the 40mph speed limit stops just short of Chapel Lane, which means that there is a short section of de-restricted (60mph) road until the 20mph speed limit on the private road leading to the industrial estate. "This proposal will tidy up the speed limits - bringing the 40mph up to meet with the 20mph."
