A FIRE crew helped rescue an injured swan in Christchurch this afternoon.

They were called to the Stony Lane roundabout by the RSPCA at 2.40pm.

It is believed the bird may have hit a power line, leaving it with a possible broken wing.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The swan was stuck in drainage ditches. It's now been recovered and efforts are being made to repatriate it to roadside level."
