A MCDONALD'S which was closed for a 'digital makeover' has been officially reopened.

The revamp at the branch in Somerford Road, Christchurch, will create 20 new jobs, franchisee Tony Bennett said.

New features include self-order kiosks, table service, printed seat covers and wall decals.

The restaurant closed for four weeks to allow the works to take place.

Mr Bennett said: "These changes are designed to make our customers’ experience as positive as possible - whether that’s providing people with a chance to get to grips with using a tablet in a relaxed environment, or providing parents with a quick and easy way of ordering their food.

"When ordering with the new kiosks customers will have the option to make different food choices."

Christchurch councillors Peter Hall, Denise Jones and David Jones attended the reopening.

Cllr Hall said: "It was fantastic to visit the new restaurant and learn more about how the digital features will benefit customers and staff alike.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of the restaurant and it was good to learn more about the work the restaurant owner and his staff do for the local community."
