BUS passengers could get the chance to be more sociable if a new seating plan meets with approval.

Morebus is asking passengers for their views on different type of seating, and is trialling a brand new vehicle on its M1 and M2 services.

The single decker bus offers a more sociable setting on-board, allowing family and friends to sit together.

“For some time, we have been looking at this innovative seating layout because it provides a comfortable space for friends and family to travel together,” said Nikki Honer, Morebus head of communications.

“The inventive horse-shoe arrangement aboard this single decker bus offers a lounge-type environment for our customers. But before we introduce this exciting new design here in Dorset, we’d like to know how those who use our services feel about it.

“We’re always on the look out for future investments - and this is an excellent way for us to gain an insight into which vehicles people enjoy travelling on before making such crucial decisions about the future of bus travel in the region.

“It’s important for us to know if passengers feel comfortable on the bus, and whether they like the seating layout.

“The demonstrator is not in the usual Morebus colours, it is painted in the livery of our sister company from Swindon - Thamesdown Transport. But to reassure people, it is still our service, so we’d love them to hop on and give it a try.

“Once they’ve done that, they can let us know their views by completing a questionnaire here."
