MARSHALS are needed to help this year's Christchurch Carnival run smoothly.
Organisers are appealing for volunteers to come forward to help during the parade and ensure participants can take part safely along the route.
The carnival takes place on Sunday August 20 through the town centre and down to Christchurch Quay.
And on Saturday, August 19, there will be a while day on entertainment on the Quay, culminating in a fireworks display at 9.30pm.
As well as music and dance, there will be stalls, a bouncy castle and food on offer.
On Sunday, the carnival parade leaves Two Riversmeet car park at 2pm and arrives at the Quay at 3.30pm.
