THREE new additions have been welcomed at Stanpit Marsh this week.
The newborn pony foals were photographed by volunteer warden Steven Hogan.
He said the black foal was born sometime on Tuesday, May 2, while the other two were born around 8am on Thursday morning.
Speaking to the Echo Mr Hogan said: "These are just the first ones to come. There are still some more ponies who are waiting to give birth to their foals."
According to Mr Hogan the influx in births is due to a stallion being introduced to the her around seven months ago.
"Now we have quite a few of them being born, but they are really great to see," he added.
Mr Hogan explained that the ponies are allowed to graze on Stanpit Marsh in order to help with its "vegetation and growth".
He also said part of his job as a volunteer warden was to try and protect the new foals by making sure members of the public don't get too close.
