POLICE in Christchurch are warning of the possible return of a "rogue trader fraternity".
A man in his late 80s was at his address in Hurn Way earlier this week when a man of stocky build in his 50s came to the door.
The younger man didn't give his name or any details but told the homeowner that he bought books and sold items online.
The visitor then walked into the elderly man's house and began to 'value' the complainant's belongings.
Two further similar incidents were reported on January 17 and 18.
A spokesperson from the Highcliffe, Walkford, Mudeford and West Highcliffe Neighbourhood Policing Team urged residents living in and around Hurn Road, Hurn Way, Crossways and River Way to stay vigilant.
"It has come to our notice that we may be seeing the return of a rogue trader fraternity to the Christchurch area," he said.
"Please look out for your neighbours, family and friends and advise them accordingly."
