GOOD news for foodie festival goers. The Highcliffe Revival Food Festival will be back next summer and organisers promise it will be bigger and better than ever.

Taking place from Saturday May 20 to Sunday May 21, the food festival has already attracted some well-known names from across the region.

Chefs who have signed up so far include Hampshire Chef of the Year, Luke Matthews, executive head chef from the Chewton Glen, Manuel Salomon from the Cliffhanger, Kevin Brown from the Lord Bute, Colin Nash from the Three Tuns at Bransgore and Ian Gibbs from the New Park Manor Hotel in Brockenhurst.

Mary Reader, chairman of the festival said: "Despite the rain last year, the team are buoyed up and are extending the festival over the whole weekend for the first time. It promises to be a really great weekend of celebrations for the village."

Trading stalls are now on sale and are being managed by local specialist food event company, Kean Events.

There will also be more entertainment for the family. Hoburne Holiday Parks, one of the main sponsors of the event, will be setting up a new children’s entertainment area and plans are already underway for the Let's Cook demonstration theatre as well as the ever popular Kids Kitchen run by Highcliffe’s Skylight Kitchen.

Other highlights of the festival include a cookery competition between chefs from Hoburne Holiday Parks and there will be artisan food demonstrations by Jennifer Williams from Sway-based Naked Jam and her colleague Kerry Witt from Chocolates by Miss Witt.

Visitors will also have a chance to visit the prestigious Chewton Glen which will be opening its new cookery school on the Sunday and many local restaurants will also be running special events and offers

All of this together with a Japanese tea ceremony, a children’s baking competition and a variety of musical entertainment means that there really will be something to suit everyone's taste throughout the festival.
