A CHRISTCHURCH charity shop is moving up the High Street to a bigger store.
The Mind store has opened next door to the Julia's House shop following a fit out and refurbishment.
New items will also be offered, with the shop at the old unit continuing to trade over the Christmas period, closing its doors on January 16.
Gary Carter has worked for Mind as a volunteer for over two years at the Mind Winton Charity Shop.
He is transferring to the Christchurch shop to work alongside shop manager Miriam Mackin.
Gary said: “Working at our shop is like Christmas every day. We have such great merchandise that has been generously donated by the local community.
"It makes me happy to see the customers' faces when they buy them especially as the funds go to help people who need it.
“Donations and sales made at the store will help support the one in four people who experience a mental health problem every year.”
Janet Loud, regional manager of Mind Christchurch said: "We are appealing for volunteers so if you would like to find out more about Mind please get in touch or donate any unwanted Christmas presents or old clothes so we can help support those with mental health problems in Christchurch this Christmas."
