A CHRISTCHURCH caravan park is applying to turn a barn into flats.
Hoburne at Highcliffe has submitted an application to Christchurch Borough Council for permission to refurbish a barn, building three two-bedroom flats and one four-bedroom house at their park.
They are also asking to demolish a barn, storage sheds and a garage, and replace them with three two-bed properties and three three-bedroom properties.
The buildings on site, next to the tennis courts and leisure facilities, have been used for storage and work equipment.
The detailed scheme follows approval of an outline application, with the elevations of the building reconsidered after comments from the conservation officer previously.
The revised design will fit in better with the rest of the park, improve the current appearance and provide a “more positive visual and functional contribution to the surrounding area”, the applicant’s design and access statement says.
The scheme is currently awaiting a decision by planning officers.
