Shoppers at Asda in Bournemouth were evacuated from the store due to a "technical issue".
Customers of the supermarket at St Paul's reported being suddenly asked to leave this afternoon.
A member of staff at the store confirmed the evacuation - which saw trolleys put up against doors to stop people entering - was a technical issue which has now been resolved and the store is now open for its customers.
The Asda store at Canford Heath also experienced problems due to the same fault.
It is believed the problem affected a number of Asda stores across the country.
