PART of the A35 at Christchurch will be partially closed for three weeks from this morning while safety improvements to a footpath and cycleway are carried out.

One lane of Barrack Road in Christchurch will be closed westbound between 9am and 4pm, just after the Stour Road traffic lights.

The work will see safety improvements made to the footpath and cycleway outside the Shell petrol station. The eastbound carriageway will remain unaffected by the work.

A spokesperson for Dorset County Council said: “Work is scheduled during quieter daytime hours to minimise disruption, but delays are still possible so please allow extra time for your journey.”
