POLICE have been called to a head-on crash between a bin lorry and a van in Stanpit this morning.
Officers were called to the scene of the crash at 5.21am this morning.
The collision involved a white Iveco bin lorry, registered to a company in Alton, and a white Mercedes Sprinter van, registered to a man from Bournemouth.
Both drivers have been injured, said a spokesperson for Dorset Police, though the injuries are not thought to be serious. One person sustained a head injury, and the other a leg injury.
The road was closed at the junction between Ledbury Road and Victoria Road, but was reopened by police at 7.15am, after the van was recovered five minutes earlier.
Officers from the local authority were called to deal with a diesel spillage, as a result of the crash, and the bin lorry had front end damage.
