WEST End stars will grace the stage at The Regent Centre in Christchurch when they join talented students for an unforgettable night of musical theatre.

Principal artistes Nigel Richards, Charlotte Wakefield and Sabrina Aloueche have a host of credits to their names ranging from Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and Spring Awakening to The Sound of Music, Billy Elliott and We Will Rock You.

They will perform well-known numbers from a range of shows and will be joined on stage by a specially selected group of senior students from the Big Little Theatre School.

The group, members of the school's Professional Development Programme, will perform as an ensemble during the show, which will take place on Sunday November 22 at 7.30pm.

Nigel Richards, who also starred in last year’s performance of Songbook, earlier this year directed a production of Songs For A New World with the students from the school and provided a truly unforgettable creative experience for the young people involved.

The concert has been organised to raise funds for the theatre school, a non-profit organisation which offers enhanced training and performance opportunities to deserving and talented children and young people.

Musical Director Colin Billing said: "It’s wonderful to be able to bring so many talented artistes to the Regent Centre, but particularly to give some students the opportunity to work with them, and watch them rehearse and learn from the process. It’s particularly important to find ways to enable talented youngsters to access professional theatre training, and the funds raised from Songbook will go a long way to help this."

Tickets, costing £16 for adults and £14 concessions, are on sale at The Regent Centre box office, 51, High Street, Christchurch. Call 01202 499199 or go to regentcentre.co.uk
