When builders came to start work on the Meteor Retail Park at Somerford, they found a Vauxhall Frontera parked in the supposedly-closed car park.
But instead of letting the car hold-up the scheme, which has been in the works for several years, builders have just fenced the Frontera in the parking space and carried on with their excavations.
Work on the derelict site, which will be home to TK Maxx, Matalan, Aldi, Bathstore, Poundland and Sports Direct, started in mid-October after planning permission was granted in May. Notices were put up before work started with numbers for the car owner to call.
But in the last three weeks, several tonnes of hardcore have been removed from the surface of the car park and piled up across the site - meaning the owner of the blocked in Frontera might find it hard to recover.
