Flights from Bournemouth to Jersey and Glasgow have been dropped from Flybe’s route schedule until the end of the winter season.

The low-cost airline resumed flights from Bournemouth Airport in March, five years after it left the facility.

But it has now announced that it will be suspending flights to Glasgow and Jersey from January 4.

A spokesman from the airport said they were “disappointed” that Flybe had withdrawn the routes but hoped they would start running again when the summer season begins at the end of March.

The service between Bournemouth and Glasgow runs 12 times a week, with flights to Jersey running six times weekly.

The airline also offers direct flights to Dublin, Paris and Amsterdam.

Bournemouth Airport is due to announce its summer season next week once airlines had confirmed their routes.

The airport, which opened a new £45million terminal in 2010, has been primarily used by Ryanair and Thomson Airways.

It is owned by Manchester Airports Group, which also runs Stansted, East Midlands and Manchester airports.
