CHRISTCHURCH Quay has met the national standard for its parks and green spaces for the fourth year running.
A Green Flag was raised at Splash Park after the award judges assessed the area against their strict criteria for horticultural standards, cleanliness, sustainability and community involvement.
The flag was raised by the Mayor of Christchurch, cllr Frederick Neale and Mayoress Barbara Neale, alongside other representatives responsible for gaining the Green Flag status.
Among them were two employees from the grounds operations team at Christchurch Council, Steve Mulholland and Dave Pidgeley; community and recreation officer Becky Beaumont; and Chérie Wheatcroft - artist in residence at Place Mill who showed the judges round the Quay.
Cllr Neale said: “I’m delighted that we’ve been rewarded yet again for the good standards that are maintained at Christchurch Quay; it’s a testament to the hard work put in by our officers as well as a number of volunteers from the local community. I would like to thank everyone involved.”
