POLICE in Christchurch are appealing for information after a boat was stolen from a secured driveway in the town.

It was taken between 7pm on Friday April 24 and 9.40am the following day from a property on Nea Road.

The rigid-inflatable boat (RIB) is described as being dark blue on the upper part of the boat with a white hull and the word ‘Raider’ in white on the rear offside panel.

It has a Mariner 60 engine and a Snipe trailer with grey painted wheel trims. It was also covered with a light grey tarpaulin. The boat’s serial number is GBRAD480015003.

Police Constable Jim Perks, of Christchurch police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the theft or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time to contact me.

“I would also ask for people to remain vigilant and report anything relating to the sale of a RIB or engine matching the description on 101. All calls will be treated in strict confidence.”
