A DATE has been set for the inquest of a Christchurch teenager who died after being struck by a train in Hampshire.
Former Brockenhurst College student William Brutnell, 18, died on Monday, February 9 after being hit by a train at Totton level crossing.
Friends and family have paid tribute to the “kind and selfless” young man, who previously attended Highcliffe School, on social media.
The principal of Brockenhurst College, Di Roberts, said the talented musician will be “remembered with respect for his achievements”.
An inquest into his death will take place on Tuesday, May 12 at Winchester Coroners’ Court.
British Transport Police is investigating the incident, which involved a passenger train travelling from Banbury to Bournemouth, and officers are asking for anyone with information to contact them by calling 0800 405 040.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
