A LARGE sewer main has burst in Christchurch closing a busy road.
Wessex Water have been working continuously to repair the main at Scott’s Hill Lane in Christchurch, which has closed both Scott’s Hill Lane and Purewell Cross Road from Stony Lane roundabout.
The road was closed from 6.30pm on Wednesday evening.
It was hoped Purewell Cross Road would have been open by 5pm today but this has been pushed back to 6pm.
Further updates are expected this afternoon.
Scotts Hill Lane will be reopened once the road surface has been rebuilt.
A spokesperson for Wessex Water said: "At this stage we are unsure when that will be. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
