The five Mudeford beach huts up for sale for a total of £1m

The asking prices for the tiny shacks range from £185,000 to £240,000, the same cost as a three-bedroom house in many parts of the country.

The huts, that have no bathroom or mains electricity, stand on Mudeford Spit, which is so remote it can only be accessed by ferry or a ride on a novelty land train.

The properties, that are being sold individually, all boast stunning views of either the Solent or Christchurch Harbour.

Three of the huts are being marketed by Denisons Estate Agents. They are hut 131 at £185,000, hut 224 at £225,000 and hut 145 at £240,000.

They are all 15ft by 10ft and can sleep up to six people.

Hut 145 will cost the equivalent of £1,600 per square foot, a similar rate to a beachfront mansion on nearby Sandbanks.

The same money would also get you a four-bedroom detached house in Liskeard, Cornwall, or footballer Mario Balotelli's Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.

It has two single sofa beds, fitted bunk beds, a mezzanine sleeping area and views across to the Isle of Wight.

The hut’s electricity comes via solar panels on the roof which power the lighting and the kitchen area has a cooker and small fridge which run off a camping gas bottle.

Andy Denison, from Denisons Estate Agents, said: "A million pounds does sound quite a lot just for five beach huts, but that does reflect how sought-after they are. It is not just a beach hut, it is a lifestyle you are buying into as well.

"They do seem to be fetching around the £200,000-mark now and there are rumours of them going higher than that.”

Last July an 18ft by 12ft hut at Mudeford became Britain's most expensive beach hut when it went on the market for £270,000.
