A YOUNG woman who had her long hair cut off has donated her tresses to a children’s charity.

Samantha Sparkes, 24, had around 16 inches of her hair cut off at Kinks Hair Salon in Christchurch to raise money for the Little Princess Trust charity.

The charity make wigs for children who have lost their own hair for many reasons, including cancer and alopecia.

And not only will the charity benefit from more than £500 raised by Sam, they will also be able to use her ponytail in the wig making process.

Samantha, who described her hair as her pride and joy, said it took a long time muster the courage to get the chop She is still raising money for the charity via a Just Giving page justgiving.com/jammy-soap.

Sam’s hair will be manufactured into a wig and then given to the charity free of charge.

The wigs can cost up to £2,000 each, hence Sam’s extra fundraising mission. To find out more about the Little Princess Trust visit the website littleprincesses.org.uk
