A CHRISTCHURCH Post Office and shop has been reopened after a complete refurbishment.

Town mayor Denise Jones officially reopened the Town Common Post Office and Nisa convenience store on Marlow Drive on Saturday following the two week overhaul which saw it completely refitted.

The branch and store now have extended opening hours – opening from 7am to 9pm seven days a week.

To celebrate the re-launch the community were invited to a fun day.

Business partners Dixit Patel and Jayesh Patel took over the Post Office and convenience store in March, investing £140,000 in the refurbishment of the store, in addition to Post Office Ltd funding for the modernisation of the Post Office.

The Nisa store now sells alcohol and has all new refrigeration, a hot food to go section and a coffee station.
