Meyrick Park to host free family festival

MEYRICK Park will provide the setting for the third Bournemouth Family Festival on Thursday from 10am until 6pm.

More than 20,000 residents of all ages are expected to attend the free event, which provides the ideal opportunity to take part in a variety of play activities and workshops. There will be around 170 stalls, an activity area for under-fives, arts and crafts as well as a baking competition, bouncy castle and inflatable slide.

Electric go-karts, face painting, fossil hunting and pony rides will be on offer with live music, dance and circus workshops, themed games and 174ft bungee jumping.

Cllr Nicola Greene, Cabinet member for education and children’s services, said: “This year promises to be even bigger and better with more fun and games planned. It looks set to be a great day out.”
