TWO people are reported to have been remanded in custody by a court in Spain following the death of Bournemouth roofer Stephen Mallon.
Reports in the Spanish press say a total of 15 local people, including at least one woman, have been arrested as a result of the incident, which ended with Mr Mallon plunging five metres from a balcony in the town of Competa, near Malaga.
The pair in jail, who are 20 and 22, are said to be facing charges of negligent homicide, while others could be charged with causing injury resulting in death.
Reporting restrictions have been imposed, but all those arrested are said to be aged 20-25 and to be from Competa or surrounding villages.
Mr Mallon, 49, of Southbourne, went into a coma after sustaining serious head injuries last month outside a bar near his family’s holiday home.
He and his twin sons were allegedly attacked without provocation.
His wife and three children were at his bedside in the intensive care unit of the Carlos Haya Hospital in Malaga when his life support machine was switched off.
A post mortem examination found that Mr Mallon died from a brain haemorrhage as a result of a severe head in jury.
