DETECTIVES investigating an attempted robbery in Bournemouth have released CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak to.
The attempted robbery was at Mace on Columbia Road when a man banged his fist on the counter, demanded cash and made threats to a female staff member.
The cashier backed away from the man who had his hood up and a scarf hiding his face and he ran off empty-handed across Columbia Road and into the Slades Farm housing estate in the incident at around 1pm on Monday June 22.
The entire attempted robbery was captured on CCTV
The woman was left shocked but unhurt following the incident.
DC Steve May of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “I am now able to release pictures taken on the store CCTV system as I need to speak urgently with the man shown in the pictures.
“I’d like to hear from anyone who recognises the man pictured and from anyone else who has any other information about the incident or about the man responsible.”
Police believe that it may be linked to a robbery at Peters Newsagent at the junction of Columbia Road and Kinson Road just two days later (June 24).
A man with a hood up and a scarf hiding his face ran into the shop carrying a knife and shouting loudly at around 2pm.
He snatched a small amount of cash from the till before making off along Kinson Road towards Turbary Common.
