DAILY Echo readers have spoken and have named their favourite places to visit for a cooked breakfast in Dorset.

Last week we invited readers to nominate their top places for a fry-up in the area in what has become our most popular reader shortlist yet.

We received hundreds of suggestions and have compiled a list of the most mentioned eateries.

If you're after somewhere to get a cooked breakfast today, here's where to head.

1. Binnies Café, Wimborne Road, Bournemouth

Bournemouth Echo:

Binnies Café in Winton came out on top with scores of nominations from readers who raved about the food, price and service, with the ‘Billy Bunter special’ also recommended.

Posting on the Bournemouth Echo’s Facebook page, Hollie said: “It’s a traditional cafe with the best customer service in the area.

While another reader who contacted the Echo said: “Best breakfast ever and value for money and a good choice too.”

2. The Dancing Moose

Bournemouth Echo:

“The best breakfast in all the land” is what one of our readers said about The Dancing Moose.

With venues in Ashley Cross, Bournemouth, Wimborne and Penn Hill, The Dancing Moose received the second highest number of nominations with reader Marian Hitchings praising its B.A.E dish, which features toasted sourdough bread with smashed avocado, crispy bacon and poached eggs which, she says are “cooked to runny perfection”.

There’s nothing quite like your mum’s cooking and maybe the clue’s in the title. One reader said: “Great service, super-efficient and friendly with a real personal touch. Best bubble and squeak ever! Door stop sized fresh bread slices and all the usual trimmings you would expect. Brilliant value for money too. They are always busy and it’s easy to see why. Long live Mum’s!”

4. Norwegian Wood, Glen Fern Road, Bournemouth

Established in 1962, Norwegian Wood’s secret to longevity surely must be in part due to its cooked breakfasts.

Tim Layman said on our Facebook page: “It's been there for years and I've frequented it since I was a kid. Also they do proper sausages. None of these cheap sausages that most places do.”

While Cynthia Catambara said: “Norwegian Wood Cafe does the best breakfast and it's very affordable.”

5. Cafe Boscanova, Christchurch Road
