Drivers were stuck for more than an hour on the A31 last night when the traffic lights failed at Canford Bottom roundabout.
Travel update service Travel Dorset reported severe delays on the road from around 4.30pm.
There were delays up to 90 minutes in both directions as a result of the incident.
Update: #TravelDorsetAlert: ⚠️SEVERE DELAYS / AVOID ⚠️ A31 between Corfe Mullen and Ferndown Bypass - traffic light failure at Canford Bottom Roundabout. Reports of eastbound delays reaching 90minutes - westbound over an hour. @HighwaysSEast informed and dealing.

And due to the lack of updates from the authority responsible for the road, Highways England, Travel Dorset was forced to provide a contact number for those stuck in the delays to get more information.
Good evening, the congestion is being highlighted on our website https://t.co/YTpxd9sZAE (see attachments). Traffic Management has been implemented at the rbt as a temp fix whilst the traffic lights are repairs, however our system delays are not as severe as 90mins.
