PEOPLE living with memory problems can pick up lots of practical information and advice at a special event on May 30
Dorset HealthCare is running a ‘Memory Roadshow’ in Poole open to anyone with a diagnosis of dementia, and the relatives and carers who support them.
The afternoon will feature representatives from a host of different organisations who can talk about the help available to lead a safe and healthy life.
A variety of stands will offer information on nutrition and hydration, independent living aids, medication management, support available for carers and local memory groups.
The event takes place from 2-4pm at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church Hall on Wimborne Road, and will begin with a short presentation on dementia by Dr Ranjeev Jaswal, the Trust’s lead for Memory Assessment Services.
As well as NHS professionals, there will also be representatives from the Alzheimer’s Society, Dorset Police, home care charity Prama, telecare provider Poole Lifeline and other organisations.
Karen Carnell, Memory Assessment Team Leader, said: “Memory loss doesn’t mean you can’t lead a healthy and happy life. Come and find out about all the help available to you or your loved one.”
