A SPECIAL event organised in memory of teenage crash victim David Pilbro raised £1,575.

David, 17, died in a motorbike crash on the A31 near Wimborne in October last year and his family organised an event to raise money for Dorset Doc Bike, the UK's first road based trauma doctor on a motorbike.

More than 70 people took part in a ride out from Holes Bay Poole to Sammy Miller's Motorcycle Museum where a number of fund raising activities took place.

David's father, Sean, said: "We would like to thank all the people who came and contributed to the event. More than 70 rode from Poole and many more came direct to the museum."

Dorset Doc Bike was launched by Dorset PC Chris Smith and Dr Ian Mew, an intensive care and air ambulance doctor.
