THIS is the amount of rubbish left strewn around Horseshoe Common the day after the opening of a fast food restaurant.
Taco Bell in Old Christchurch Road opened to customers for the first time on Wednesday, offering free t-shirts to the first 100 people through the door. However, yesterday morning paper bags and wrappers branded with the chain's logo were littered around the area after bins near a seating area overflowed.
The mercury peaked at 20C on Wednesday, and customers to Bournemouth takeaways took their food to the park.
Council officials arrived to clear the rubbish shortly after 8am.
The new Taco Bell, which offers Tex-Mex fast food, seats more than 45 people.
The chain also opened a branch in Poole last year.
A further restaurant may also open in the Lansdowne close to Bournemouth University, is it reported.
