A PLANNED Brexit debate to be hosted by Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine has been postponed.

Tony Blair’s former press secretary Alastair Campbell, UKIP MEP Gerard Batten and Pro-Leave Labour MP Kate Hoey were lined up for the debate, which had been due to take place at the BIC.

But organiser Daniel Emmerson said he was now looking at a June date after difficulty booking a second high-profile Remain supporter.

He said: “Jeremy Vine was to be our compere and we are confident that he may be available for June.

“The issue we have is gaining the same response from the Remainers. Only Alastair Campbell was willing to participate yet even he couldn't find anyone available for April 20.”

He said he was looking at holding the event on June 15 or 16.
