AN oriental food takeaway has applied for change of use permission several months after it opened.
Bentos, in Yelverton Road, Bournemouth, opened in September and has proven popular with workers in the town centre, but last month it was revealed the business did not have planning permission or a licence.
It has now submitted an application to use the site, formerly the Juice Box and before that a tanning salon, as a takeaway specialising in Korean/Japanese cuisine.
A neighbouring business has complained to the council about odours from the unit drifting next door.
The business will also need a licence to open. Last month Andy Sherriff, planning enforcement manager, said: “There’s an ongoing enforcement case and our officers have been updating the complainants as the case progresses."
