POLICE are hunting a robber who grabbed a 74-year-old man in the street in broad daylight and stole his wallet.

They have appealed for help in tracing the offender, who struck just before 5pm on Friday February 23 near Tomlin's fish and chip shop in Seabourne Road, Southbourne.

The victim was grabbed from behind and the wallet taken from his pocket. He was not physically injured in the attack.

The offender ran off along Seabourne Road and turned left into Beresford Road. He has been described as white, around 25-years-old and about five feet four inches tall, with a round face. He has dark hair and was wearing a grey hooded top and blue jeans.

Detective Constable Lucy Hale, of Bournemouth CID, said: "We are making a number of inquiries, including trying to establish whether there is CCTV footage that could aid our investigation.

"I am appealing for any witnesses who have not spoken with police yet and anyone that may know who is responsible for this robbery to come forward."
