A MAN was knocked unconscious during a “violent” assault on two men in Bournemouth town centre.

At around 10.20pm on Saturday, February 3, the victims - both aged 22 and from Paignton in Devon - were drinking in the Walkabout bar in Old Christchurch Road with friends when an altercation took place between them and a second group of men.

One of the men threw a number of punches at one of the victims, striking the right side of his head and leaving a red mark.

He then assaulted the second victim, knocking him unconscious.

The victim sustained a cut and heavily bruised left eye and swollen lip and was taken to hospital.

He also lost most of his front tooth and chipped two of his lower teeth.

Police Constable Nina Baxter, of Bournemouth police, said: “This was a violent assault on two men and as part of my investigation I am now in a position to issue a CCTV image of the suspect. I would urge anyone who recognises this man to please contact Dorset Police.”
